TSC Postal Match

ugh, so I just shot the Target Shooting Canada postal match for 60-shot 10m air rifle for October. Man, my scores for August and September were poor, but I just shot way less than those two months. Got a whopping 270, haha. My sights are out, but I was too lazy to zero it, so I just tried to adjust and shoot off-center to try to hit center. Obviously wasn't the best idea, hehe. But it was a little chilly out there, and I didn't feel like being out there forever trying to zero it and then shooting another 60 shots for the match. 270, sheesh! And I thought 315/317 was bad enough, haha.

Faulty switch

haha, ok, so there was no robbery. The wiring for the silent panic button, or the button/switch itself perhaps, was faulty and sent a false-alarm to the alarm company. And consequently a ton of cops zoomed down there to save the day. Needless to say the cook working out front was a little surprised to see a bunch of cop cars zoom into the parking lot and then come into the store, haha. So the switch/wiring were fixed today, and now the cops won't think we're just crying wolf if we actually need them, hehe. Phew!

Robbery

whoa! Friend of mine just heard on the police scanner that they got robbed down at work around 11pm! Crazy! Who'd wanna rob a Panago? Hope everyone is OK, that's some stupid crap. Find out in the morning I guess. Sheesh!

Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree

I'm not actually sure what's going on exactly, but there's apparently a bit of drama going on around the Christmas tree right now. The recording sessions were put on hold for a bit, I believe. Hopefully we'll have some funky tracks to listen to in the not too distant future.

Rich Franklin

Wow! I'm sure I wasn't the only one that was stunned to see Rich Franklin get worked so hard on Saturday's UFC 64. He had his middleweight belt on the line against Anderson Silva, and Silva worked him over in short order. Franklin looked like an amateur who didn't know what to do. Silva threw him around like a ragdoll, working over his ribs before getting the TKO just 3 minutes into the 1st round, breaking Franklin's nose with a big knee from the Muay-Thai clinch. It'll be interesting to see what happens with him in the future after this poor showing. Makes one wonder if there wasn't something wrong with Franklin that he didn't want known before the fight took place.

On a related note, here's hoping that BJ Penn gets a rubber match with Matt Hughes. I've lost all respect for Hughes after seeing him fake the thumb in the eye injury in their last fight. Watch the incident frame-by-frame and you can see BJ's thumb is never anywhere near Matt's eye, and at best he took a knuckle or two on the surface of the eyelid. Definitely nothing to account for the show he put on when it happened. Guy's a goof, I agree with Matt Serra's take on him. He's just a high-school jock in an adult body, never grew up. Penn was winning the fight in the first two rounds before he got hurt, by a large margin. Almost knocked Hughes out. Too bad he got hurt, Penn would've taken the belt, easily.

Crosman 2240

A little while after the Slavia 631 purchase I picked up a Crosman 2240 CO2 pistol. Great little modder. I'm in the process of converting it to a nice little 2250 rifle. Here's some of the modifications I've done so far.

Slavia 631 tune

so, a while back I threw up a page to show how easy it is to work on the CZ Slavia 631 airgun. Great starter airgun, highly recommended. Head on down to Home Hardware (seriously) and have them order one in for you.
